Commission conversations

Commissions

Limited commission places are available for sculptural chair works and related object-based pieces.

Holly takes on a limited number of studio commissions each year. Commissions are available for upholstered sculptural chairs, found-object works, and related object-based pieces for private or domestic contexts.

Holly works within her established material practice. She does not take on photorealistic portraiture, digital work, or commissions that fall outside her sculptural language.

How a commission works

  1. Initial conversation about the object, scale, material direction, placement context, and timeline
  2. Scope confirmation and written agreement, including payment schedule
  3. Deposit paid on signing to secure studio time
  4. Studio work begins, with milestone updates provided
  5. Concept presented for collector approval before final work proceeds
  6. Final payment before delivery
  7. Delivery with Certificate of Authenticity and care notes

Commissions typically take 6 to 12 weeks from agreement to delivery, depending on scope, materials, and current studio schedule.

Payment is staged: a deposit on signing, a milestone payment on concept approval, and the final balance before delivery. A written agreement is signed by both parties before any work begins.

Holly Kay Parsons retains copyright in all works. The collector receives the physical work and a licence for personal display. The completed work may appear in the artist's portfolio and exhibition record.

Commission enquiries are welcome. Places are limited and availability varies throughout the year.
